Fall Developmental Academy Program U9-U14
The North Star FC Developmental Academy offers a competitive, growth-focused environment for players ages U9 to U14 who are committed to improving their skills and competing at a high level. This program serves as the tier just below our Academy level and provides excellent training and competition for developing players.
Each age group typically features 2–3 teams, allowing us to place players in the best environment for their growth and playing experience. Our Developmental Academy teams compete in the Southeast Minnesota Soccer League (SMSL).
Players receive high-quality coaching, structured team training sessions. The focus is on continued technical improvement, tactical understanding, and preparing players for future opportunities within the club or beyond.
Whether you’re aiming to move into the Academy program or simply want a strong soccer experience with balanced commitment, the Developmental Academy is a great fit.
By joining you will receive the following benefits:
- United States Soccer Licensed Coach or a Tetra Brazil Licensed Coach for each team. We ask all our coaches to become licensed with the entry level grassroots course. Most coaches go beyond the grassroots and attain higher level licensure.
- Senior Staff Coaches for each age group- these professional coaches have advanced degrees in coaching. Currently on staff we have the two A-licensed Professional Coaches and 3 B-license coaches.
- Senior Goalkeeper Coach to work with all teams and offer private keeper sessions.
- Winter team training for all teams.
- Players will have the ability to play at the highest levels in the state

Fall Information
August 24th- October 10th
Starting in the Fall 2026, US Club and USYS will begin the new birth year guidelines that all clubs will follow. Please see below:
U9- August 1st 2017- July 31st 2018
U10- August 1st 2016- July 31st 2017
U11-August 1st 2015- July 31st 2016
U12- August 1st 2014- July 31st 2015
U13- August 1st 2013- July 31st 2014
U14- August 1st 2012- July 31st 2013
Location- Withers Soccer Complex, Southern Woods, or Kepp Complex
Practice Nights will be determined based off of coach aviability, unfortantly we will not know this until the coaches are assigned. Please do not register unless you are able to practice M-Th.
Practice times are determined by the coach, but generally practices start at 530pm. U9/U10 practices are 1.15hrs and U11-14 practices are 1.5hrs.
Uniforms
Beginning in Fall 2026, North Star FC transitioned to new adidas kits. These kits will be used for a two-year cycle- ending at the conclusion of the Spring/Summer 2027.
Players who already have the current adidas kit do not need to purchase a new one. Players who are new to the competitive program will need to purchase a kit. Players wishing to order a new size may do so as well.

The full kit cost is $200.
Kits can be ordered through the club store at Soccer Post – Rochester, located at 380 Woodlake Dr SE.
Games
All games are on the weekends during the fall season. Most games are on Saturdays but some can appear on Sundays.

Once submitted, your request will be reviewed by our team. You will receive an email notification once your application has been approved or denied. After receiving a decision, you may proceed with registering for the program.
