We are excited to open our 2025 Spring Competitive League Play program for Albert Lea Players! Entering our 50th year, North Star FC continues to be a leader in the soccer community with now being one of the largest clubs in the state!
We are excited to have the Albert Lea Youth Soccer Association be part of the North Star FC Community! North Star FC is a state member of the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association and a member of Southern Minnesota Soccer League, which is part of the United States Soccer Federation.
We follow all mandates and recommendations for player development set at the National level.
By Joining you will receive the following benefits
- Players will have the ability to play at the highest levels in the state.
- Team Training Fields
- Player Loan Program – players will now be able to guest play for any North Star FC Team. Albert Lea players can play for Rochester teams if needed.
Practice Information
Teams will begin practicing 2X times a week mid to late April- weather permitting.
The season will conclude by early July, some teams will finish earlier depending on league schedule. League schedule comes from SMSL. During the school year U9-U12 will have games on the weekends, U13 and older will have games during the week. Once school is out, all age groups will move to weekday game nights.
Practice / Game nights are below- please note the coach is able to change the nights if they have to. If this happens and the player can no longer participate, we will provide a refund.

Rec: Edina Memorial Park
Competitive: U9-U10: Troy Hammer Park
U11-U12: Lakeview Park
U13-U18: Hammer Complex
U9 – Boys and Girls- Practice nights T/TH-Games on weekends until Memorial Day weekend they then switch to games on.
U10 Boys or Girls- Practice nights T/TH – Games on weekends until Memorial Day weekend they then switch to games on Mondays
U11/12 Boys and Girls- Practice nights T/TH- Games on weekends until Memorial Day weekend they then switch to games on Mondays
*U9-U12 will have games on the weekends until school lets out**
U13/14 Boys and Girls- Practice nights T/TH- Games on Wednesdays
U15/16 Boys and Girls- Practice nights T/TH- Games on Mondays
U17/18 Boys and Girls- Practice nights T/Th- Games on Wednesdays

Starting in Fall 2025, we will be in a new uniform cycle so all players will need to order new kits.

The new kit cost includes home/away jerseys, home/away shorts, 2 pair of socks.

Early Bird Registration: January 2nd - 31st
$210 for U9 and U10 players
$270 for U11-U18 players
Normal Pricing: February 1st - 24th
$235 for U9 and U10 players
$295 for U11-U18 players

Multi-Player Discount - 5% discount will be given to any families with multiple players registering.
Coach Discount - become a Head Coach and we will reimburse your child's registration fee 100% at the end of the season.
Asst Coach / Team Manager Discount - become an Asst Coach or a Team Manager and we will reimburse your child's registration fee 50% at the end of the season.
Financial Aid is given to anyone in need.
To request Financial aid:
- when you click registration and completed the log in for playmetrics- creating your account etc., you will see the program "Austin Competitive Soccer"
- click on this program and at the very top you will see Financial Aid
- click on this and follow the prompts.
The club will cover 60% of your registration cost.
Payment plan options will be available as you complete the registration.
